March 10, 2010 We got lucky today, the rains missed us and
we actually had some sun ... so took a few more photos and video of
Widget in
the pasture. He is so modern and elegant, great movement, super legs and
lots of forward motion. Two more weeks and Widget will be 2 years old (March 24th)!

9, 2010 We received our Winter 2009/2010 issue of "The American
Hanoverian" magazine today. A big thanks the inspectors, George Walker and
Vanessa Carlson, for their write ups on the inspections. Our inspection
was at Creek Colony Ranch in Richmond, Texas and if you'd like to read the
article, please

March 6, 2010 Finally, we're having some pleasant
weather, the fields are starting to dry up, the sun is shining and the horses are enjoying the
Spring-like weather. We've had several requests for updated videos on our
sale horses but this is just not the best time of year to be taking photos ...
they're fuzzy wuzzies with their winter coats on and the round pen is a mess.
So we're working at it. In the meantime, here's
Sirius (updated still photos towards the bottom
of his page) and Widget being silly in
the pasture ... just some fun stuff!

March 2, 2010 Rosoenna was
rebred to San Amour so let's hope that two is a charm and she catches!
(Fingers crossed!)
March 1, 2010 Seltener Mond was
born on the 1st of January. We've been traveling and he seems to have
grown by leaps and bounds just in the week we've been gone! They are just
too cute at this age and he is truly Mr. Personality!

March 1, 2010 We took Rosoenna,
Miller Proof and
Juno back for their vet checks. Good news for
Miller Proof ... she is pregnant (Escudo II) and
we'll take her back next week to see if there's a heartbeat. Gary is very
excited about that cross ... should be a very athletic foal.
Unfortunately, Rosoenna did not take so we're trying
again with San Amour. There was a heartbeat with
Juno (Sir Donnerhall II) so her next trip to the vet will be
in April to see if we can do a fetal sexing exam ... now how cool is that?

February 28, 2010 We just returned from a week in Florida
where we attended a mini family reunion and celebrated Ashley's 21st birthday!
Was hoping we'd have better weather to enjoy the Florida sites but we had a good
time in spite of the weather!
February 26, 2010 Gary's daughter, Ashley, is 21 years
old today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ASHLEY!
February
20, 2010 CONGRATULATIONS to Eric & Karen on their purchase of our lovely
Miss Miller (pictured right with her 2009 colt,
Wolkenbruck)! She's a truly
wonderful mare and super mother going to a great home ... fortunately they are
close enough that we can visit!
February 19, 2010
We just received a few photos of Sergeant Major (Sir Donnerhall x Rosier) who is
Rosoenna's first US born colt (pictured
left, his second time with someone on his back). Art & Kathy couldn't be
happier with his development, disposition, work ethic, brain, etc., etc., etc.
Needless to say, we are thrilled to hear all these wonderful comments
about Sergeant Major!
February 17, 2010
It's always nice to follow our youngsters as they mature.
Delmonico (DiMaggio) was our first imported colt out
of our lovely Rosier mare, Rosoenna. Delmonico
is a little over 3 years old in this photo. He and his owner, Mary, make a
lovely team (photo right), don't they? We will watch their show career with great
interest!
February 15, 2010 CONGRATS to
Juno ... we saw the black dot this morning on her
ultrasound. What a good girl and a great start to our breeding season!
February 12, 2010
It is Valentine's Day weekend and so far, so good with our 2010 breeding plans.
We hadn't bred most of our mares last year so we could put them under lights to
breed early in the year (our summers are dreadfully hot and humid). It
seems that Rosoenna also "read the book" and has now
been bred to San Amour. Fingers
crossed, the "S" line has been a very successful cross with Rosoenna so we have
high hopes!
February 9, 2010
The weather has certainly been a challenge ... the poor East Coast has been
buried in snow. Mother Nature certainly has been on a rampage. There
was a little weather related drama for us waiting for semen to inseminate
Miller Proof but it was finally located and she
was bred to Escudo II.
January 31, 2010
Juno was bred to Sir Donnerhall II ... fingers crossed
that we see a black dot when we go back to our repro vet on the 15th!

CONGRATULATIONS to
Sherry White, Graystone Farms, breeder of our very own Ana Isabellah for
being recognized for
The Dr. Walter Hartwig Prize for the Best North American-bred Young Mare
award. Izzy is the 2009 Reserve Champion! Way to go, Sherry!

January
23-24, 2010
Houston Dressage Society Winter Shows I & II were held at the
Great Southwest
Equestrian Center, Katy, TX. We took Ana
Isabellah "Izzy" to compete in T4 and Young
Horse classes and Dolce Rhosa went along for her
first taste of schooling. We were very proud of both of our girls!
Rhosa handled the commotion well, some calling when Izzy went in to 'work' but
all in all, she was really good about the whole showing thing. When it was
her turn to get lunged and ridden, she was wide eyed but nothing dramatic, thank
goodness!
Izzy was just amazing, earning four blue ribbons in her four classes ... plus
High Score Champion! Her T4 on Saturday was respectable at 66.8 and 70.0%
on Sunday. Izzy and Erika did great on their first "YOUNG HORSE TEST OF
CHOICE" earning (Saturday) 72.2 and (Sunday) 75.2. BIG thanks and congratulations to Erika-West Danque, she's
doing a great job with Izzy and makes us very proud! For complete results,

8, 2010 I know that many of you are going through very inclement
weather wherever you may reside. Where we are, it's typically very warm
and mild throughout the winter (and much too hot/humid through the summer).
Mother Nature has other plans this year and we're going through heavy freeze,
extreme cold for this area (we're in the single digits). I know that's
nothing by comparison to many regions but for here ... that's just plain cold!
So Selten has his first blanket ... as does
everyone else (looks like a rainbow of horses going out to pasture!). Now how cute this he? Really a nice, nice colt ...
full of energy, inquisitive, friendly and enjoying life!
January 5, 2010 BIG thanks to our friend, Stephanie Law for
coming up with the perfect name for our new Starlight colt ...
Seltener Mond
(translates to Rare Moon in German).
January 1, 2010 WOW! We've had the best start to
the New Year! Juno gifted us with a beautiful,
black Starlight (the
2008 Devon Triple Crown Champion)
colt with two hind socks about 9am on New Years Day! Born during the Blue
Moon (which is obviously a full moon) and one the first day of the New Year!
Indeed, a very special Oldenburg colt ... it must have been in the "stars!"
Blessed with a textbook
birth ... no complications and even at a reasonable hour (although Gary and I
were a bit sleep deprived since she's been showing signs for a couple of days).
He was probably the quickest foal we've ever had about getting up and walking
around ... very bright, alert and Rick Rockefeller-Silvia (Starlight's owner
when we bred Juno) says he looks just like Starlight (we can but hope, eh?).
Mom and son are doing great ... and now for the difficult part ... finding an
appropriate "S" name! LOL ... suggestions welcomed!
We wanted to share with you a couple of gifts we got for our show girls,
Izzy and Rhosa. When Izzy qualified in 2009 for the SWDC and Regionals in
one weekend, we splurged and purchased a custom browband for her. Gary
insisted that it not be fussy and
Jayne Schneiderhan of HPF Designs made the perfect browband for Izzy
(pictured left).
We liked Izzy's so much that we had Jayne design another browband for Rhosa
(right). It reminds me of old fashioned rock candy ... simply stunning.
If you are in the market for a special, new browband,
email Jayne ... we're very happy with ours!
