September 25, 2008 - A HUGE congratulations to Rick Silvia and Starlight (Dream Street Stallions) on the Grand Championship at Dressage at Devon.  We're especially excited because Rosoenna is in foal to Starlight.  Her Sir Donnerhall colt, Sergeant Major is amazing so we're thrilled with this cross!  A personal note:  I'd like to add that Rick and Dream Street Stallions have been incredibly accommodating to deal with so as a small breeder, this is a real win/win for us!  As a matter of fact, we are adding his elite stallion Lullaby to our breeding program.

September 12, 2008 - Never a dull moment at Walkabout Station.  We had an incredibly dry, hot summer and then got blasted by Hurricane Ike.  Fortunately, Ike had been reduced to a Category 1 Hurricane prior to hitting the Station but we were without power for almost nine (9) days.  The horses are all fine, trees got uprooted, our parrots loved competing with the noise, dogs are fine (Rowley followed Gary everywhere while Matilda hid in the house), cats hunkered down and hid ... all in all, the menagerie is happy, healthy and really didn't care about the lack of power (meals were still on time so they were content).  Maggie and Busy Beaks did great too!  Thanks for the well wishes and positive thoughts ... we were very lucky and feel especially blessed after seeing the devastation that Ike left behind.

August 10, 2008 - We set up a new round pen but the footing is terrible ... it's been so hot and dry ... even dragging/raking isn't doing anything to even the footing out.  Also, although we've had a bunch of requests for videos of the boys, these are definitely not the best but I guess it's better than nothing.  Widget is so elegant and will be tall ... he loves to canter.  Sirius is shedding out and looking like he may be liver chestnut like his mom when he's done, very elastic, proud and a beautiful mover, definitely an upper level prospect.  Rocky is simply amazing ... he is personality plus, plus, plus!  His video definitely doesn't do him justice but you can see his big over stride ... he will be one comfortable ride!  So until we take the boys to inspection in October, this is probably the best video that we'll be able to get.  It's just too hot, we did get a bit of rain but not enough, and the ground is rock hard!  Not a good combination when trying to run them around the round pen.  Note:  you can right click on video links (the colts names) and "save target as" to view video later

July 31, 2008 - July has been an unseasonably hot and dry month for us here in Willis, Texas ... we're 10" below normal rainfall for the month, which makes it very dusty and our daytime temps have hovered between 95 to 100 degrees so it's been just too darned hot to get videos of the boys.  Hopefully we'll have better luck in August (hope so, we sure need some rain for the hay to grow).  We have updated the boys pages with some new still photos (you can tell from the hazy photos how hot/humid it was when taking the photos).

July 25, 2008 - St.Pr.St. Rosa Canina "Rubi" is confirmed in foal to Sir Donnerhall.  Rubi along with her colt, Sirius, and Rosoenna were gone for 60+ days to Dr. Hartman's Equine Center (Repro Center in Whitesboro, TX).  We're very glad to have everyone home!  We had hoped to do an ET with Rubi but the surrogate didn't hold onto the Quaterback embryo :( ... and when Rubi was bred to carry, she double ovulated so we had to pinch a twin!  Talk about bad timing, guess we should have flushed ... but no complaints so long as everyone is healthy!  A special thanks to Dr. Shalyn Bliss for taking good care of our girls AND sending them home in foal!

July 8, 2008 - Miss Miller is confirmed in foal to Wolkentanz.  Her colt, Widget, by Weltmeyer is really nice and growing up into a beautiful sporthorse so we went back to the "W" line since it was such a good cross.

July, 4, 2008 - Elite Vb Pr St Winessa was confirmed in foal to Royal Diamond.  Her colt, Rockafella, by Rohdiamant was so special that we thought breeding to his full brother was in order!

June 26, 2008 - Rosoenna is confirmed in foal to Starlight and we're thrilled!

May 19, 2008 - Elite Vb Pr St Winessa had a beautiful, healthy bay colt by Rohdiamant this morning.  We'll get some photos soon, but he's up, nursing and looks perfect!  Winessa was a few days early, guess she knew it was going to be triple digits heat this week!

May 9, 2008 - We took some hasty videos of all the colts because we are taking Rubi and Rosoenna to Hartman's Equine Center in Whitesboro, TX (north of Dallas and about 5 hrs one way for us with the horse trailer) to be bred.  They'll be gone for several weeks and hopefully will come home in foal ... plus we're going to try for an embryo transfer with Rubi!

April 24, 2008 - It seems that 2008 is continuing the Year of the Colt for us!  We were surprised by the early arrival of yet another healthy colt from our mare Juno!  Long legged, beautiful face and bred to jump ... he was up, nursing and greeting the Station Master right away.  What a brave colt!  Be sure to check out this colt's video ... incredible knee action and he gets his hocks right under him!

April 12, 2008 - SPS Rosa Canina "Rubi" had a gorgeous (Salieri/ Rubinstein I/ Warkant) chestnut colt a little past sunset (isn't that lovely ... she didn't make us stay up all night?).  The coloring of this young man along with Miss Miller's colt makes for a lovely pas de deux!  His full sister, Salieri Rose, was site champion filly at her Hanoverian inspection in 2007 and we expect nothing less from this stunning, young man who is just full of the "WOW" factor!

March 24, 2008 - Miss Miller gifted us with a lovely, Weltmeyer colt this morning ... he's about 3 hours old in this photo, chestnut and very handsome indeed!

March 12, 2008 - Step by Step (in Germany) was bred back to Hotline (Hocus Pocus is such a special filly that we couldn't resist breeding her back to Hotline)!

March 2, 2008 - We are thrilled with the newest addition to the Walkabout Station/Still Waters Farm herd ... we're very proud to announce that Step by Step had a beautiful bay filly and in Hans-Heinrich Brüning's words "nice filly by Hotline-the best I saw from Hotline in this year and last years."  We're breeding SbS back to Hotline because this little filly is definitely a keeper!

February 1, 2008 - CONGRATULATIONS to Art and Kathy Buller on their purchase of Sergeant Major!  We are looking forward to regular updates and Kathy is a great videographer ... so I'm hoping we'll get some video clips that we can share too!
