This wonderful 2008 colt by the Oldenburg approved Holsteiner stallion, Cathalido, has fun showing off his incredible movement. One couldn't ask for better, and along with his beautiful conformation and type he will surely turn heads in either the dressage arena or the hunter jumper world.

His sire, Cathalido (Calido I x Ilona XV (Carthago)), is in turn sired by Calido I who was the standout sire in jumping at the 2004 Bundeschampionate having sired the Champion of the 5 year old jumpers, Coster, and the Reserve Champion, Clintwood. Calido's sire, Cantus, goes back to the great thoroughbred stallion, Cottage Son xx who also appears in the dam line of Cathalido. She also also goes back to the refining and legendary thoroughbred stallion, Ladykiller xx who along with Cottage Son xx are considered two of the top jumper sires of all time in modern sport breeding (click here to read more).

This colt's dam, "Juno" (Columbus x Miss Bodacious xx (Raise a Bid xx)), is a registered Reserve Champion Holsteiner mare that was presented to the Oldenburg Verband in 2006 where she received an overall 7.0 and tied for Site Champion Mare. She is in the Main Mare Book, and this colt will be presented for registration this year with the OHBS.

Juno's sire, Columbus (Calypso II x Marina (Farnese)), is the only USA owned Holsteiner stallion who is currently ranked in the USEF Top Ten Leading Stallions for all disciplines.

Juno's first colt by Cathalido was a "marriage" worth repeating ... so we did!  We are planning on taking this colt to the German Oldenburg Verband inspection but if buyer preferred, he could be branded Holsteiner.

(Note:  May, 2008 - Cathalido has been exported to Germany to continue his jumping career on the
international circuit.  We wish him continued success!)

Still unfolding those long legs ... Brand new - up, nursing and greeting the Station Master! Just 6 hours old, what a cutie!

3 days old! 9 days old - look at that extension! Bred to jump and look at him move!

"Some horses come into our lives and quickly go.
Others stay a while, make hoofprints on our hearts
and we are never, never the same."
